About the role
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment and systems. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Performs scheduled maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, motors, and other plant equipment.
- Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Maximizes performance of stationary equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis.
- Responds promptly to equipment failures and production interruptions.
- Affords assistance with cutting, welding, and fabrication tasks for plant components and structural repairs.
- Completes required paperwork to maintain equipment and to run the plant according to Martin Marietta standards.
- Adheres to MSHA safety standards and company policies.
- Conducts pre-shift inspections and ensures proper lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance activities.
- Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by Production.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment condition.
- Communicates effectively with supervisors and operations teams regarding equipment status and repair needs.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Work Experience: 1+ years of experience related to Heavy-Duty Maintenance jobs or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in the Aggregates Industry.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Equipment analysis and general repair concepts, Troubleshooting, MSHA compliance and regulations, Problem solving, Detail oriented, Time management.
