PLANT MAINTENANCE

Duties and/or Responsibilities

• Perform pre and post operational inspections and document the conditions accurately and legibly.
• Inspect, adjust, modify and repair equipment to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, specifically, MSHA and Knife River standards.
• Report and correct any unsafe or failing conditions immediately.
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with other employees and supervisors.
• Inspect, adjust, modify, lubricate and repair plant equipment daily to minimize break downs.
• Able to identify and properly utilize various hand tools.
• Able to obtain accurate measurements using a tape measure.
• Monitor plant equipment, conveyors, screen media, wear liners, etc. and notify plant operator or supervisor of any deficiencies or needed repairs.
• Able to climb ladders, inclined catwalks and stairs.
• Perform repairs while working at heights and in small spaces.
• Perform repairs in varying weather and light conditions.
• Able and willing to work long hours during the production season.
• Performs clean up duties around various equipment using shovels and high pressure water hoses.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Less than high school education, or
• Up to one month related experience or training, or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Driver’s license required.
