About the role
McGard LLC is a leading company in the automotive industry seeking a highly talented and motivated Planner/ Scheduler I to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve end-user questions regarding merchandise, service, and billing.
- Ensure all necessary work orders are released and any accompanying paperwork needed is attached.
- Plan production to meet our customer ship/delivery requirement dates.
- Prepare production orders for the McGard assembly floor to meet the daily production needs.
- Perform inventory management according to company policies, investigate discrepancies, and enter information correctly in the system.
- Investigate shortage discrepancies in inventory from production order and request cycle count and make adjustment to inventory if needed.
- Attend and participate in all weekly board meetings, especially when communicating scheduling and production needs with operations, purchasing, and engineering.
- Assist necessary departments in coordinating and planning customer orders and deliveries, identifying delivery exceptions and providing alternate solutions.
- Absorb and analyze open orders over one week brought to your attention, assist in inventory obsolescence process, and prioritize weekly job lists for different departments and work centers as needed.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement in the production cycle to ensure continuous operations.
- Maintain awareness of material shortages and provide immediate resolution.
- If the inventory count needs to be verified, contact required McGard inventory or floor employees for assistance.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve processes in area of responsibility.
- Work with floor Supervisor/Leads and research any open orders over one week brought to your attention.
- Ensure all requests from the Customer Service department have been met.
- Issue orders or adjust inventory accordingly.
- Keep information, such as training documentation and work instructions, current for planning and capacity management processes.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- One (1) or more years’ experience in manufacturing, planning, scheduling, logistics, ERP systems or supply chain operation and analysis preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge in supply chain, operations, planning, and forecasting techniques.
- Must be able to effectively manage projects.
- Driven by known project constraints, due dates, and cost constraints.
- May work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Physical demands and work environment: Position requires individual to be capable of traveling & working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation. The noise level is usually moderate.

- Supply chain, operations, planning, and forecasting knowledge.
- Project management capabilities.
