About the role
The Planner/Scheduler I is responsible for loading schedules and releasing orders according to a defined process by the Supply Chain Analyst. They monitor the status of planned and released orders, ensuring timely completion and addressing any delays.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key contact for receipt and entry of new orders, change orders, and net change analysis from customers.
- Perform material and capacity analysis, collaborate with Supply Chain Analyst to establish a production schedule for each order, and resolve discrepancies between requested and promised dates.
- Acknowledge promised delivery dates to customers and assist in resolving issues related to discrepancies.
- Process component and non-inventory order entries and invoices as needed.
- Contribute to planning functions and provide recommendations or decisions to support the Supply Chain Analyst.
- Communicate forecast and production schedule changes to the Master Planner and Supply Chain supervisor.
- Analyze potential impacts of forecasts and production schedules on component procurement and production volumes.
- Maintain oversight of material status on upcoming orders; flag and release orders as per the daily release schedule.
- Monitor all orders to ensure timely completion and escalate or resolve issues affecting timely delivery.
- Collaborate with Production, Product Engineering, Kit pull, Shipping, and Purchasing for priorities, holds, throughput, capacity issues, part shortages, or engineering changes on released orders.
- Participate on the Customer Team as the Planning Dept. representative to support the department and business units.
- Assist Supply Chain Management or Supply Chain Analyst with the development or changes to Planning or Scheduling processes.
- Provide input or analysis to management regarding WIP, Finished Goods, and Component inventory levels.
- Work with Project Management to process project orders, track orders to completion, analyze project costs, and prepare and process project invoicing and closing.
- Collaborate with Finance to investigate and resolve Accounts Receivable issues.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate understanding of the extended process of order receipt and entry, material procurement, order release, assembly, shipment, and invoice payment.
- Have a strong understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools (Baan or equivalent) relevant to the position.
- Show effective decision-making skills to direct the manufacturing floor and assign priorities to meet customer goals and objectives.
- Exercise discretion when representing the company in supply chain-related decisions.
- Show effective planning, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Be able to handle returned product following all appropriate handling and ESD guidelines.
- Display effective oral and written communication skills.
- Show confidentiality and professionalism in representing the company.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities with complete documentation and presentations.
