RTX has chosen SAP’s S/4HANA to enable our future ERP system and has largely concluded the strategic definition and design phase and is now entering the initial blueprinting, build and support phases.
The SAP Functional Coordinator operates as a key support partner to the P2S Lead, helping ensure that configuration, documentation, testing, and process alignment remain consistent and accurate across the program. This includes supporting the Plan-To-Sustain (P2S) Lead in functional design validation, integration alignment, documentation, sprint planning, defect management, and cross-workstream coordination. Strong knowledge of SAP processes and integration acumen, along with coordination and communication skills are essential to the role.
You are the ideal candidate if you have experience working within an organization that is responsible for driving large, complex programs and projects related to business process and system transformation using SAP’s S/4HANA solution.
Ability to travel 25-35%.
Responsibilities
- Functional Design & Documentation
- Review and validate functional specifications to ensure requirements are clearly defined, feasible, and aligned with P2S processes.
- Review Configuration Design Documents (CDDs) to ensure all “fit” user stories are properly reflected, configuration details are documented accurately, and explanations are clear and up to date.
- Maintain consistent and current documentation across P2S processes, CDDs, Key Design Documents and traceability.
- Integration Coordination
- Identify integration points with other workstream leads and ensure alignment across end-to-end business processes and system touchpoints.
- Coordinate with integration architects to verify data flows, interface dependencies, and cross-module impacts.
- Support troubleshooting and resolving integration issues during testing or readiness activities.
- Testing, Defect Management & Deployment Support
- Support development of test scenarios and scripts for SIT and UAT cycles.
- Track, prioritize, and coordinate defect resolution across functional and technical teams.
- Assist with cutover readiness, go-live preparation, and hypercare support activities.
- Execution Support: Sprint Planning & Resource Alignment
- Assist with sprint planning by preparing backlog items, validating user story readiness, and coordinating with the P2S Lead on prioritization.
- Monitor sprint progress, identify blockers or risks, and help maintain alignment with P2S deliverables.
- Support workload and resource coordination across functional and technical team members.
- Project & Workstream Coordination
- Serve as a delegate for the P2S Lead in meetings, discussions, or cross-functional forums.
- Track deliverables, milestones, risks, and issues, escalating items when needed.
- Assist with preparing status updates, leadership summaries, and program documentation.
- Business Engagement
- Act as a daily point of contact for the RTX Process Team, Business Unit SMEs, supporting discussions around design decisions, testing questions, and process alignment.
- Facilitate communication between business and IT teams to ensure clarity and consistency in decision-making.
Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 7 years of SAP experience in Plan to Sustain areas including Aftermarket, Master Data, Logistics, Planning, Production, Quality or related areas.
- Prior experience supporting SAP transformation, upgrade, and/or integration projects including multi-workstream initiatives (i.e. MM, PP, FI and related modules).
- Understanding of maintenance, reliability, asset management, and related processes across supply chain and finance.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments, including sprint planning and backlog management.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-team coordination skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA.
- Experience working on large, complex A&D enterprise projects -- or similarly regulated, large organization.
- Experience with agile frameworks/iterative approaches to software development and implementation projects.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Schedule
This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
