Pittsburgh Senior Commercial Disputes Associate
About the role
K&L Gates is seeking to hire a senior associate to join the Commercial Disputes practice in our dynamic Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience with general commercial litigation matters, multi-district litigation or class actions in state and federal courts. Candidates should have experience independently conducting research, drafting substantive pleadings and motions, and organizing, conducting and managing the discovery practice, including e-discovery. Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited law school and be admitted to or eligible to sit for the Pennsylvania Bar. Clerkship or journal experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct legal research and draft pleadings and motions
- Manage and organize discovery practices, including e-discovery
- Assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact under the mentorship of experienced lawyers
- Work collaboratively as part of a team while being able to work independently
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to or eligibility to sit for the Pennsylvania Bar
- Experience with general commercial litigation matters, multi-district litigation or class actions in state and federal courts
- Experience independently conducting legal research and drafting pleadings and motions
- Experience managing and organizing discovery practices, including e-discovery
