Piping Superintendent

Relocation authorized for national/international single assignments. This is a full-time, office/project-based role located in Thacker Pass, NV.

About the Role

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility. Role supports large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
• Planning:
  • Reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Reviews and approves, where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
• Safety / Quality:
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures, and related work rules as established by field construction management.
• Technical:
  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen, and Craft Professionals.
  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Skills

The most important knowledge and skills needed upon entry to do the job successfully include:

• Prior experience in subcontractor coordination and field supervision on large, complex projects.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, resource planning, and safety/quality compliance.
• Ability to coordinate engineering solutions and resolve constructability issues with design teams.
• Leadership in enforcing policies, procedures, and work rules in a field construction environment.

Pay

Salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.

• New York City positions: A 5% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary (subject to change depending on market conditions).
• San Francisco and San Jose, CA positions: A 10% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary (subject to change depending on market conditions).
