About the role

Kilgore Industries is seeking an experienced and motivated Piping Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial and industrial piping projects. The successful candidate will manage multiple crews, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other trades.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all field piping operations from project start through completion.
  • Lead and manage pipefitting foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate manpower planning, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain project schedules.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate installation.
  • Collaborate with project management to develop work plans, schedules, and productivity goals.
  • Monitor labor productivity, project costs, and field performance.
  • Conduct daily planning meetings and communicate project expectations to field personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and customer requirements.
  • Perform regular jobsite inspections to maintain quality control and workmanship standards.
  • Identify and resolve field issues while minimizing project delays.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and project turnover activities.
  • Mentor and develop foreman and craft personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of piping construction experience with at least 2–5 years in a superintendent or general foreman role.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial piping systems.
  • Experience with chilled water, heating hot water, steam, process piping, hydronic systems, and mechanical equipment installation.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, productivity tracking, and project coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction management software is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Background in healthcare, manufacturing, data center, or industrial facilities.
  • Experience with BIM coordination and prefabrication processes.
  • NCCER certification or equivalent industry credentials.
