About the role

CK Masonry is seeking an experienced Superintendent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety policies and regulations to promote a safe working environment, and all construction activities are performed as planned.
  • Communicate with project management and operations teams.
  • Lead field operations by reading plans, scouting and identifying work, identifying potential site issues, and deploying resources in the most efficient manner.
  • Ensure production goals are met, and account for hours expended by crew members to minimize labor costs.
  • Ensure quality of work by on jobsite observations and post-job inspections.
  • Co-ordinate schedules with homeowners and business owners affected by construction.
  • Ensure maintenance of sewer rehabilitation equipment and tools.
  • Review prospective jobsites, read plans, and assist in estimating job costs for bidding purposes.
  • Ensure inventories are maintained and at optimal stocking levels.
  • Communicate/coordinate file activities with customers, vendors, and other interested parties.
  • Order supplies and material as needed in a timely manner.
  • Match purchases against projects.
  • Perform employee performance reviews and rankings.
  • Close out projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, and stretch.
  • Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and hear without visual cues.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to wear respirator and body harness while entering confined spaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Manhole Rehabilitation experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience preferred.
  • More than 3 years heavy construction experience and the ability to operate machinery preferred.
  • Strong mechanical background required.
  • Strong electrical background and knowledge of traffic plans highly desired.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with other contractors, field inspectors, project managers, crews, etc.
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional overnight travel, weekend work, and nighttime work is required.
