About the role
The Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) provides medical care to patients in a correctional facility. This is a limited term position which may be extended or become permanent.
Responsibilities
- Performs medical assessments and provides medical treatment on assigned patients as appropriate and as authorized by the medical license.
- Provides clinical consultation to midlevel providers and other staff.
- Instructs nursing and other clinical staff on medical protocols and adheres to professional medical standards of care.
- Assigned on call duties.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications (MQ): Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Possession of a valid internal medicine or family medicine Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Specialty Board; or admissibility to an internal medicine or family medicine Specialty examination as evidenced by a written statement from the Secretary of the American Board of Family Medicine or the Secretary of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
- If using academic education above the twelfth grade to meet minimum qualifications, include a copy of your degree and/or Informal (Unofficial) School Transcripts.
Qualifications
- Desirable Qualifications: Possession of a valid certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Board as a specialist in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical assessment and treatment.
- Ability to provide clinical consultation.
- Knowledge of medical protocols and adherence to professional standards.
- Ability to instruct and mentor staff.
- Experience with on-call duties.

Pay
$26,677.00 - $29,640.00 per Month
