Physician Support Representative III

Responsibilities
- Patient Scheduling and Coordination of Care: manages incoming patient calls, schedules appointments, and coordinates care with multiple practice sites
- Document and Information Management: maintains patient records, transcribes medical reports, and ensures accuracy and timeliness of written materials
- Time and Calendar Management: manages surgeon calendars, including clinical activity, administrative meetings, and research commitments
- Billing/Financial Management: obtains authorizations, pre-verifies insurance, and performs front-end billing functions
- Other Office Management: coordinates work with nurse practitioners, manages incoming mail, and provides coverage for absences
- Practice Site Coordination: serves as primary contact for off-site practice locations, ensuring compliance with regulations and Medical Center policies
Requirements
- High School diploma and 2 years of relevant experience required
- Medical Terminology, experience with surgical/appointment scheduling software, and electronic medical records preferred
Qualifications
Demonstrated customer relations skills required, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment.
Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
- Functional knowledge of ICD10 coding, insurance company referrals/precertification, worker’s compensation, and demographic information
- Ability to use various office equipment and software, including Cadence and eRecord systems
Pay
The compensation range for this role is $20.30 - $27.41 per hour, with individual annual salaries/hourly rates determined by factors including market data, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, with a daytime schedule.
