About the role

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a dynamic, board-certified/board-eligible electrophysiologist at the associate or full professor rank to lead an elite team of academic electrophysiology physicians as the Associate Section Director for Research. This role provides senior leadership for the academic and research strategic direction of the advanced arrhythmia programs, advancing high-quality research, program growth, and multidisciplinary collaboration across the cardiovascular enterprise.

The successful candidate will focus on expanding the research portfolio and novel therapeutic options for the treatment of advanced arrhythmic disorders, supporting a robust inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology program at the world-class Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine comprises over 60 cardiologists with specialties including general cardiology, interventional and structural heart disease, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. The division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, ranked among the top 50 "Best Hospitals" nationally by U.S. News & World Report.

The division offers six fellowship programs: core cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure and cardiac transplant, adult congenital heart disease, and cardiovascular diagnostic imaging. Services are provided across over 12 counties in Ohio and Kentucky.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership for the academic and research strategic direction of advanced arrhythmia programs.
• Advance high-quality research and program growth in electrophysiology.
• Foster multidisciplinary collaboration across the cardiovascular enterprise.
• Expand the research portfolio and develop novel therapeutic options for advanced arrhythmic disorders.
• Support a robust inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology program.

Requirements

• Board eligible or certified in electrophysiology.
• Successful completion of a U.S. accredited electrophysiology fellowship.
• Eligible for an Ohio medical license.
• Established clinical or translational research program.
• Qualify for an academic appointment at The Ohio State University.
