Physician - Medical Director Heart Transplant and VAD
About the role
We are seeking a BC Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist with expertise (Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship) in mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and transplantation. Key roles and primary responsibilities will include clinical oversight (inpatient/outpatient), quality improvement (UNOS/CMS compliance), MCS/Transplant program development, and academic contributions, working closely with the section Head of the Advanced HF and LVAD and transplant surgical directors.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight for Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant services
- Lead quality improvement initiatives related to UNOS/CMS compliance
- Develop and oversee MCS/Transplant programs
- Contribute to academic activities and research
Requirements
- BC in Cardiology
- Minimum of 5 years of post-fellowship experience in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant
- Expertise in mechanical circulatory support (MCS) and transplantation
- Clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and provide compassionate care
Skills
- Strong clinical skills in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support and transplantation
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Strong academic and research capabilities
