About the role
Ochsner Children's Hospital is seeking a Director of Pediatric Heart Failure/Heart Transplant physician along with a second Pediatric Heart Failure/Heart Transplant physician in the only pediatric heart transplant center in Louisiana.
Responsibilities
- Care of patients with cardiomyopathies, heart failure, transplant, congenital heart disease, and ventricular assist devices.
- Support by a dedicated physician assistant, two transplant coordinators, transplant psychologist, transplant social worker and a transplant pharmacist.
- Active participation in PHTS and ACTION.
Requirements
- BC/BE in pediatric cardiology.
- Completed an advanced fellowship in pediatric heart failure/heart transplant or minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive services for all pediatric cardiac sub-specialties including heart failure/transplant, EP, ACHD, interventional cardiology, imaging including echocardiography and cardiac MRI and CT, and fetal cardiology.
- Full range of pediatric complex specialties including liver and bone marrow transplantation, advanced GI and Hepatology, advanced spine surgery, Hematology-Oncology and AYA Oncology, Cleft Palate/Cranio-Facial Surgery, and the region’s only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center.
- State-of-the-art medical facilities including nationally recognized hospitals like Ochsner St. Mary and Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans.
