Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise the Heart Failure, Transplant, and VAD program.
• Provide excellent patient care.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.
• Completed a Pediatric residency program, as well as a Pediatric Cardiology fellowship program.
• Board certified / eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.

WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital is a tertiary care center for the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, as well as Southeastern Ohio. We have West Virginia’s only cardiothoracic surgery program and offer surgical interventions for the full range of congenital heart defects, including complex single ventricle neonates through adults with congenital heart disease. We have a robust ECMO program with dedicated pediatric perfusionists to support cardiac and non-cardiac diseases. Our 150 bed Golisano Children’s Hospital includes dedicated cardiac operating rooms, a hybrid cardiac EP and interventional catheterization lab, and dedicated pediatric cardiac anesthesia staff.

Schedule

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia to provide outreach clinic services. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Benefits

WVU Medicine Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Birthing Center houses a 30-bed obstetrical unit and the maternal-fetal medicine clinic. WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.
