Responsibilities
- Evaluate laboratory and clinical findings, differentiating among the various contributory causes, and prescribes appropriate treatment.
- Document patient care appropriately.
- Follow through on cases to ensure effectiveness and alters course of treatment, as indicated.
- Collaborate with specialists in other areas on cases involving interrelated problems.
- Support readiness for all active duty and civilian missions by providing primary care to active duty and their family members.
- Assist soldiers and commanders by performing fitness for duty evaluations, physicals, profiles, and command referrals, as assigned.
- Contribute to the teaching of medical learners (medical students, residents, and fellows) through presenting and lecturing in the ambulatory and inpatient settings.
- Guide, instruct and train medical interns in internal medicine, as well as interns in other specialties, in aspects of internal medicine which relate to their area.
- Performs Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic Requirement: Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
- Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Residency Training for GP-14: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Internal Medicine) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.
