About the role

This position serves as the primary care physician for adult patients with both acute and chronic illnesses and conditions, focusing on internal medicine. The incumbent manages complex medical issues such as congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, thyroid disorders, diabetes, arthritic conditions, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary care physician for adult patients with both acute and chronic illnesses and conditions covering internal medicine.
  • Manage complicated medical problems such as congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, thyroid disorders, diabetes, arthritic conditions, etc.
  • Examine patients, take histories, perform physical examinations, order laboratory tests, prescribe treatment and refer, as appropriate, to specialty/subspecialty care.
  • Complete required records (both paper and electronic) pertaining to all medical services provided in accordance with specified procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) and quality assurance activities as assigned.
  • Provide technical oversight of clinical staff (e.g. nurses, social workers, therapists, and various technicians).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Basic Requirement: Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
  • Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Residency Training for GP-14: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Internal Medicine) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.

Pay

The salary for this position is based on a tier scale, determined by the position specialty, grade, and location. Tier 1: $123,007 - $300,000 Tier 2: $145,000 - $320,000 Tier 3: $165,000 - $336,000
