Physician Associate - CTICU - MSH - Full Time
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care under the supervision of a delegated physician within the Mount Sinai Health System. This position requires collaboration with various medical teams and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, manages, diagnoses, and plans treatment for patients, including ordering tests, medications, and therapies.
- Writes accurate and timely progress notes, admit/discharge notes, and procedure notes in patient records.
- Communicates effectively with medical teams and ancillary staff, providing consultations and participating in interdisciplinary care planning.
- Works collaboratively with supervising physicians and care teams, ensuring timely and respectful communication and prioritizing patient-centered safety and quality.
- Performs delegated clinical duties and tasks within the scope of practice and privileges granted by the supervising physician.
- Communicates patient assessments, treatment plans, and care strategies to patients, families, and caretakers in a compassionate and clear manner.
- Facilitates patient continuity of care across multiple disciplines and contributes to efficient patient throughput.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an Accredited Physician Assistant Program, with a Master’s degree preferred.
- NCCPA Board Certification for 5 years.
- New York State Licensure for 3 years.
- DEA Licensure for 3 years.
- BLS and ACLS Certification for 2 years.
- Infection Control Certification for 4 years.
- 0-2 years of experience in the clinical specialty of hire, or relevant experience as a new graduate from an accredited P.A. Program.
