Physician Associate - Outpatient Urology - MSH - Full Time
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care under the supervision of a delegated physician within the Mount Sinai Health System. This position involves critical thinking, diagnosis, medication and diagnostic ordering, and implementation of corrective, preventive, and therapeutic measures in various clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, manages, diagnoses, and plans care for patients, including ordering pertinent tests, therapies, and medications as required by New York State law and hospital policies.
- Writes accurate and timely progress notes, admit/discharge notes, and other relevant documentation in patient records.
- Communicates effectively with medical teams and other staff, providing consultations and collaborating on patient care plans.
- Works collaboratively with supervising physicians and care teams, ensuring timely and respectful communication, and prioritizing patient-centered safety and quality.
- Performs delegated clinical duties and tasks efficiently and effectively, adhering to the scope of practice of the supervising physician.
- Communicates patient assessments, treatment plans, and care strategies to patients, families, and designated caregivers in a compassionate manner.
- Facilitates seamless patient transitions between multi-disciplinary services and contributes to the efficient flow of patients through the healthcare system.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an Accredited Physician Assistant Program, with a Master's degree preferred.
- NCCPA Board Certification for 5 years.
- New York State Licensure for 3 years.
- DEA Licensure for 3 years.
- BLS and ACLS Certifications for 2 years.
- Infection Control Certification for 4 years.
- 0-2 years of experience in the clinical specialty of hire, or as a new graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
