About the role
The professional will perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions, applying biological, physical, social, and behavioral science principles to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients. They will advocate for patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and perform procedures within their expertise and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive medical histories and conduct physical exams, reviewing relevant lab and imaging studies.
- Formulate accurate diagnoses, including differential diagnoses when appropriate.
- Develop and execute treatment plans, including medication orders, additional testing, and follow-up care, ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform procedures within expertise and organizational policies.
- Educate patients and families on treatment, disease prevention, and health promotion, ensuring culturally-sensitive communication.
- Accurately document all patient care activities and maintain confidentiality.
- Manage telehealth encounters, in-basket tasks, and emergency situations, in addition to other clinical and administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing for Advanced Practice Nurses or Bachelor's Degree for Physician Assistants, with graduation from accredited programs.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant, with relevant certifications (e.g., Nurse Practitioner, PA certification).
- Valid state licenses, certifications, and DEA registration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing and privileges, including for procedural sedation if applicable.
- Strong patient-centered communication, customer service skills, and commitment to continuing education.
