Physician - Adult Genetics
About the role
Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC Adult Geneticist to join a busy practice. The position will work with clinical geneticists, advanced practice providers, and genetic counselors.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with genetic disorders
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including clinical geneticists, molecular pathologists, molecular laboratory geneticists, pharmacogenomics pharmacists, APPs, and genetic counselors
- Deploy pre-emptive genetic testing and other new and innovative genetic programs
- Participate in research opportunities, if desired
- Teach and mentor medical students and residents
- Participate in academic appointments through Sanford School of Medicine, commensurate with experience
Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- BC in clinical genetics by the ABMG
Qualifications
- Well versed and willing to deploy pre-emptive genetic testing and other new and innovative genetic programs
Skills
- Experience in adult genetics and IM or FM is preferred

Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC Adult Geneticist to join a busy practice. Join clinical geneticists, Advanced Practice Providers, and genetic counselors. Applicants with a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, experience in adult genetics and IM or FM is preferred. Minimum qualifications include MD or DO degree, BC in clinical genetics by the ABMG. Applicants must be well versed and have a willingness to deploy pre-emptive genetic testing and other new and innovative genetic programs. The multi-displinary team includes clinical geneticists, a molecular pathologist, moleculer laboratory geneticists, pharmacogenomics pharmacists, APP’s and genetic counselors. Research opportunities available, if desired. Academic Appointment available through Sanford School of Medicine, commensurate with experience. Genetic Counseling Program started in 2016 with a joint effort between Sanford Health and Augustana University.
