About the role

John Brooks Recovery Center (JBRC) is a leading provider of comprehensive substance use disorder treatment services in Southern New Jersey. With state-of-the-art facilities offering outpatient and residential medication-assisted recovery programs, our mission is to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care that supports long-term recovery and wellness. JBRC is seeking a Board-Certified Addiction Medicine MD/DO to serve as Associate Medical Director to support the clinical leadership, medical oversight, and quality of care primarily at JBRC’s 120-bed residential facility in Mays Landing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oversight for outpatient and residential treatment programs.
  • Deliver direct patient care, including evaluations, medication management, and MAT services.
  • Supervise and support medical staff, including APNs, and nursing personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, compliance, and clinical quality standards.
  • Aid the Medical Director in the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical protocols, policies, and evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with leadership on program development and expansion.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and education for medical and clinical staff.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory standards (NJDOH, CARF, DEA, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the EHR.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Work closely with nursing, counseling, case management, and administrative teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Engage in community outreach and represent JBRC at relevant professional events as needed.

Requirements

Board-Certified Addiction Medicine MD/DO.

  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment settings.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to provide compassionate care.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of addiction medicine and treatment modalities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
