About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being in a home care setting, following the plan of care set by a supervising Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to state laws and performs only qualified procedures under supervision.
• Instructs patients in exercises, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses and condition changes to the healthcare team.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers within scope of practice.
• Provides care in diverse home environments, respecting individual backgrounds.

Requirements

• Current licensure, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification.
• Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and mobility assistance.
