About the role
The Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being in a home care setting, following the plan of care set by a supervising Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to state laws and performs only qualified procedures under supervision.
- Instructs patients in exercises, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
- Observes, records, and reports patient responses and condition changes to the healthcare team.
- Educates patients, families, and caregivers within scope of practice.
- Provides care in diverse home environments, respecting individual backgrounds.
Requirements
- Current licensure, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy.
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR certification.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and mobility assistance.
