Physical Therapy Assistant II - Physical Therapy IP Orange- PT Day Shift 36hrs

About the role

Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, incumbents independently initiate and perform patient treatments using various procedures, modalities and instructions. In addition, will perform related patient care activities such as removing & reapplying dressings, providing transportation, providing patient education, completing daily progress notes, and ensuring accurate charge entry. Prepares schedules for patients' treatment, and cleans and disinfects equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients using various procedures, modalities and instructions
• Perform related patient care activities such as removing & reapplying dressings, providing transportation, providing patient education, completing daily progress notes, and ensuring accurate charge entry
• Prepare schedules for patients' treatment
• Clean and disinfect equipment as needed
• Participate in discharge planning meetings for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline
• Ensure that non CCS paneled therapists/therapy assistants and Rehab Techs are supervised by a CCS paneled therapist for the care provided to children aged 0-21
• Coordinate the transfer of care to the CCS Medical Therapy Units in the school system as appropriate

Requirements

Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must possess current valid Physical Therapy Assistant License
Minimum of two years experience and the ability to treat 3 or more types of patient conditions (CVA, SCI, TBI, Peds, Ortho, burns, hand etc.)
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Qualifications

• Current valid Physical Therapy Assistant License
• Two years experience treating 3 or more types of patient conditions
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job
