PD Physical Therapy Assistant - Physical Therapy OP Orange- Day Shift

About the role

Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, incumbents independently initiate and perform patient treatments using various procedures, modalities and instructions. In addition, will perform related patient care activities such as removing & reapplying dressings, providing transportation, providing patient education, completing daily progress notes, and ensuring accurate charge entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepares schedules for patients' treatment
• Cleans and disinfects equipment as needed
• Treats patients with various conditions including CVA, SCI, TBI, Peds, Ortho, burns, hand etc.
• Provides patient education
• Completes daily progress notes
• Ensures accurate charge entry
• Attends discharge planning meetings for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline
• Participates in care coordination activities when children are being discharged with therapy and coordinates the transfer of care to the CCS Medical Therapy Units in the school system as appropriate

Requirements

Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must possess current valid Physical Therapy Assistant License
Minimum of two years experience and the ability to treat 3 or more types of patient conditions (CVA, SCI, TBI, Peds, Ortho, burns, hand etc.)
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Qualifications

Must possess a current valid Physical Therapy Assistant License
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
