Physical Therapist - Outpatient Orthopedics / Sports

About the role

This position involves providing comprehensive physical therapy services to patients, including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. The therapist collaborates with healthcare teams, participates in program development, and contributes to meeting clinical goals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations by reviewing patient history, performing assessments, and explaining findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentation, and healthcare environment; consult with other professionals as needed.
• Complete discharge planning, follow-up care, and maintain accurate, timely documentation of care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Manage time effectively, maintain productivity, and ensure flexible, empathetic patient access to care.
• Pursue continuing education for professional growth; serve as a clinical instructor and assist in mentoring staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensure in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia, as required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
