Physical Therapist
TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization. We partner with schools to provide Physical Therapy (PT) services to PreK-12 students nationwide. About the role
This is a part-time, on-site role as a Physical Therapist (PT) serving a school located in Hillsborough Township, NJ for the 2026-2027 school year (August – May/June). The position covers K-12 grades and offers guaranteed hours, including documentation, administrative, and planning time. Dual support is provided by the District and TheraPeds, with manageable caseloads.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy services to students, including direct therapy, consultation, evaluations, and case management
- Conduct assessments and develop IEP plans
- Evaluate student progress and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents)
- Supervise a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Identify children with deviations in physical, developmental, gross/perceptual, and functional motor areas that may affect their educational program
- Guide therapy in determining appropriate goals, selecting treatment methods, and measuring intervention effectiveness
- Use observation, standardized, and non-standardized techniques as assessment tools
- Plan and implement treatment, exercises, and manual therapy within developmental therapeutic models to support students in the school setting
- Collaborate with school staff and parents with a high level of tact and discretion
Requirements
- Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited university
- State License as a Physical Therapist
- National License: APTA (Preferred)
- Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required
- Experience working with children
- Strong foundation in planning and implementing treatment within developmental therapeutic models
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in the use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for working with students with special needs
- Ability to perform physical movement functions such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students
Pay
$50–$65+/hour ($700–$910+/week)
Schedule
Part-time (12–16 hours/week) during the school year (August – May/June).
