Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

About the role

Join a collaborative outpatient team providing personalized care to patients of all ages with a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. Services include orthopedic rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injury care, balance and fall prevention, hand therapy, pelvic health therapy, concussion therapy, neurorehabilitation, work-related injury rehabilitation, massage therapy, and McKenzie Method treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and quality of life
  • Treat a diverse outpatient caseload including orthopedic, post-operative, sports medicine, neurological, balance, concussion, and work-related injury patients
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment updates with the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and wellness strategies
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation utilizing available technology and support resources
  • Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered clinic culture focused on exceptional outcomes and service

Requirements

  • Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • CURRENT West Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Strong communication and patient relationship-building skills
