Responsibilities
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety.
- Transports patients to/from therapy programs appropriately considering the patient's age, diagnosis and physical and mental limitations.
- Assists in conducting specified treatment activities; observes patients in treatment activities and reports observations to therapists/therapist assistants.
- Prepares treatment areas, patients and equipment for treatments.
- Provides assistance to professional staff as needed during patient evaluations and treatments.
- Affirms that department is clean, neat and orderly.
- Performs tech duties in assigned areas.
- Limits defective equipment; completes assigned maintenance duties.
- Orders and maintains established levels of supplies.
- Performs clerical duties such as filing, errands and answering the telephone upon request.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested to enhance the department.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior training or experience in related environment is preferred.
- Special Skills: Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures.
