About the role
We are seeking a Full-Time Phone Triage Nurse (LPN) for our Adult division located in Cape Coral, FL.
Responsibilities
- Review daily provider-patient schedule with Clinical Coordinator and clinical team to prioritize triage to plan for an efficient flow of patient care.
- Triage daily patient phone calls in order of priority to ensure acute care needs are addressed by an appropriate health care professional in a timely manner.
- Perform medication prior authorizations.
- Assist patients in scheduling preventative services.
- Assist with patient education as needed.
- Assist in contacting patients with abnormal lab/test results and schedule follow-up as ordered by the providers when requested.
- Assist clinical staff as needed to avoid interruption of delivery of services to patients.
- Counsel patients regarding lab tests, medications, procedures, etc. as requested by physicians.
- Schedule referrals and appointments for specialized testing and procedures as requested.
- Perform general nursing care to patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.
Requirements
- A valid and current State of Florida license to Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately.
- Ability to handle all calls in a professional and compassionate manner.
- One year of clinical office experience or a combination of medical education and work experience.
- CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
