Phone Triage Medical Assistant - Endocrinology For Kids
University Physicians’ Association is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate part-time Phone Triage Medical Assistant to join our Endocrinology for Kids team in Maryville, TN. About the role
The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting both patients and providers by ensuring timely communication, accurate documentation, and a seamless care experience. Strong familiarity with electronic medical records, patient assessment, and clinical protocols is essential.
Job Type: Part-Time with Benefits
Alternating bi-weekly schedule (40 hours per pay period)
Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (8:00am to 4:30pm)
Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday (8:00am to 4:30pm)
Responsibilities
- Answering patient calls and assessing medical needs
- Accurately documenting symptoms, medical history, and concerns
- Providing patient instructions based on clinical protocols
- Assisting with scheduling appointments and coordinating care
- Managing prior authorizations and obtaining pre-certifications for imaging (MRI, CT scans)
- Communicating test results in a timely and professional manner
- Processing prescription refill requests in compliance with established guidelines
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification is preferred
- Minimum of 1-year previous medical experience
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and organization
