Phlebotomist (Weekends)
Overview
The Phlebotomist obtains blood and other specimens from various patients for laboratory testing according to licensed physician's or provider's orders. Responsibilities include obtaining needed supplies, verifying patient identification, preparing skin sites, performing venipuncture and skin punctures using aseptic techniques, labeling specimens, and transporting them to the laboratory for analysis. Duties may vary by assigned area and shift.
Qualifications
- Education: High School/GED
- Skills/Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented.
- Licenses/Certifications: CPR Certification through the American Heart Association; Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT).
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 6 months in a team-oriented environment or customer service role; completion of formal structured phlebotomy program OR 3 months' full-time phlebotomy experience or equivalent; experience working with an electronic medical record system, such as Epic; maintain composure while working under pressure; ability to perform job duties with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
- Experience: Completion of formal structured phlebotomy program OR 3 months' full-time phlebotomy experience or equivalent.
- Other Requirements/Information: Positive, professional attitude and demeanor.

Pay
Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour.
