Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist (Weekends)
About the role
The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist will perform high volume of phlebotomy, maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations, assist with the clinical care of fertility patients, ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs, provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicate physician orders and instructions, provide pre and post op education, perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs, take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance, utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels, establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families, work independently to assure the program goals are achieved, and support and promote excellence in customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform high volume of phlebotomy
- Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
- Aid in the clinical care of fertility patients
- Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
- Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicate physician orders and instructions
- Provide pre and post op education
- Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
- Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
- Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels

Requirements
Strong phlebotomy skills required, High School diploma, Completion of a formal MA program; preferred, Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required, Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong phlebotomy skills required

Pay
$19.00 to $23.75 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Schedule
Every other Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM (or shift end)
