Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
• Draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heel sticks or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
• Label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
• Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing.
• Transport, process, and perform clerical duties as necessary for testing on patient samples.

Requirements

• HR diploma or GED required.
