Phlebotomist PRN
About the role
Join the Laboratory team at Brigham City Community Hospital as a Phlebotomist. You will be an integral part of a highly functioning team that supports multiple departments, delivering reliable testing and compassionate, professional patient interactions.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples and body fluids from patients for laboratory testing, including blood cultures and arterial samples for blood gas analysis.
- Register specimens and orders in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and prepare/label samples for internal or external testing.
- Communicate lab test requests and results to appropriate staff, departments, and/or physicians.
- Collect and document urine drug screens requiring chain of custody and perform breath alcohol tests when required.
- Assist with in-services or training as assigned.
- Perform administrative duties within the laboratory.
Requirements
- Phlebotomy Certification required.
- One year of phlebotomy experience or completion of an equivalent phlebotomy training program.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, filing, and clerical tasks.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
