Phlebotomist - 40 hrs - 3pm - 11:30pm - Nursing Homes & Inpatient
About the role
Join our Specimen Processing Lab Department as a Phlebotomist in a dynamic, high-energy environment where your work directly impacts patient care. This role involves obtaining blood specimens for inpatients and the Emergency Department, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to caregivers. You will work two evenings per week in the hospital and three evenings per week servicing Hartford area nursing homes.
Responsibilities
- Properly identify patients per policy and perform venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods.
- Label all specimens following laboratory policy.
- Receive, cancel, order, and process laboratory/microbiology specimens.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program.
- One year of phlebotomy experience.
- National Certification preferred.
- Dependable transportation and a good driving record.
Schedule
40 hours per week, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will service area nursing homes; Tuesday and Thursday will cover inpatient/ED. Includes every other weekend and holiday rotation, with on-call hours.
