Phlebotomist - 24 hrs - Nursing Homes - 6am-2:30pm

About the role

You will be responsible for obtaining blood specimens at Hartford area nursing homes, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to the appropriate caregiver. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients. Dependable transportation and a good driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Properly identify patients per policy and perform venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods.
• Label all specimens following laboratory policy.
• Receive, cancel, order, and process laboratory/microbiology specimens.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program.
• At least one year of phlebotomy experience.
• National Certification preferred.
• Dependable transportation for travel to nursing homes (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Schedule

24 hours per week, Day Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM), every other weekend, rotating holidays. Position involves servicing Hartford area nursing homes.
