Pharmacologist - Med Faculty Open Rank

Duties

• Provide leadership in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical education programs.
• Deliver high-quality classroom, clinical, laboratory, and bedside teaching to medical students, PA students and other healthcare trainees.
• Develop, review, and enhance curricula, educational resources, and assessment strategies to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and advances in medical practice.
• Audit learner performance through examinations, clinical evaluations, competency-based assessments, and other educational activities.
• Supervise and mentor medical students, PA students, and other trainees in academic, clinical, and professional development.
• Maintain an active program of scholarly activity through educational research, clinical research, publications, presentations, and other academic contributions.
• Participate in and lead interdisciplinary clinical, educational, and research initiatives that promote excellence in patient care and medical education.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, evidence-based practice, and innovation in clinical and educational settings.
• Provide academic and administrative leadership in program development, accreditation activities, faculty development, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Serve on departmental, institutional, and university committees, contributing to governance, policy development, community engagement, and institutional advancement.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D., D.O., M.D., or equivalent).
• Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology.
• Prior experience in teaching, training, or mentoring, preferably in a higher education setting.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage, motivate, and support student learning.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
• Previous teaching experience in a higher education institution.
• Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
• Record of scholarly research and publications.
• Membership in relevant professional organizations.
• Experience contributing to academic program development and assessment.

Compensation

Medical Faculty (Open Rank) Tenure-Track Appointments:

• Medical Assistant Professor (Basic Science): $80,982 – $128,748
• Medical Associate Professor (Basic Science): $100,052 – $149,375
• Medical Professor (Basic Science): $119,128 – $169,995

Non–Tenure-Track Appointments:

• Medical Clinical Professor (Med Series): $79,127 – $227,755

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
