Qualifications
- M.D. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field
- Record of significant achievement in profession or field of expertise
- Preferred Experience in developing and implementing novel statistical methods
- Experience collaborating with health scientists
- Passion for teaching and mentoring
- Extramurally funded research program in areas of particular interest to the School of Medicine, including computational science, population health, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Demonstrated experience in machine learning/Artificial intelligence and Bayesian methods
- Causal inference for observational, interventional studies, and clinical trials methodology experience
- Analytical skills of electronic health records and other real-world data is a plus
- A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding commensurate with rank
- Demonstrated excellence in collaborative research in clinical and translational science
- Experience in biostatistics teaching and mentoring
- Evidence of sustained scholarly leadership and national or international recognition at the Full Professor level
- A strong track record of extramurally funded research in statistical methodology and its applications at the Associate Professor level
- Demonstrated ability to define a clearly defined area of research focus with a strong publication record at the Assistant Professor level
- Team player with exceptional communication skills and experience working in multicultural environments
- Deep understanding of the importance of health, education, and healthcare disparities in higher education, along with experience developing models to understand their impact on outcomes
