Primary Responsibilities
- Aid in developing and promoting a competitive NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field program.
- Understand, follow, and enforce all NCAA bylaws, League regulations, and university academic and other policies and procedures.
- Recruit quality athletes.
- Run practices and ensure practice content aligns with NCAA standards.
- Maintain the academic progress of student-athletes.
- Schedule contests and travel arrangements, including transportation, meals, lodging, and equipment.
- Coordinate team technical needs, order equipment, uniforms, gear, and supplies.
- Instruct one HPER course per year for the School of Education, including course content, materials, evaluation, and grading.
- Create and maintain a supportive environment for student-athletes' health and welfare.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of work experience at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level, or NAIA coaching experience with a specialty in working with sprints and hurdle event groups.
- Working knowledge of NCAA DI rules, fundamentals, techniques, and rules of sport.
- Effective communication skills with student-athletes, parents, coaches, media, faculty, staff, students, and the public.
- Strong supervisory and public relations skills.
- Support of Athletic Department values and principles, and a commitment to fundraising.
- A valid driver’s license and compliance with Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s degree.
- Experience at the Division I Level.
