Assistant Coach, Men's and Women's Track and Field (Athletics)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee design and implementation of training programs for all Horizontal Jumps and Multi events that focus on individual and team performance improvement.
  • Recruit highly talented student-athletes to ensure a competitive roster.
  • Foster a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, academic excellence, and personal growth.
  • Complete Administrative duties as assigned (e.g., working with the business office to submit paperwork and travel requests in a timely manner).
  • Assist in day-to-day operations, which may include preparing for practices and competitions.
  • Oversee team and individual practices.
  • Aid in all areas of the track and field program.
  • Aid in all home meet management operations, including Cross Country.
  • Budget accountability.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Playing or coaching experience at the Division I level.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel, as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.

Knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 Rules and Regulations

Must have a thorough understanding of NCAA and Big 12 rules and regulations relating to academics, satisfactory progress, and eligibility.

Experience with High School or College Student-Athletes

Please list any experience you have had since 2015 with high school or college student-athletes. This includes working or volunteering in any capacity with a high school, AAU, sports club, junior college or 4-year institution student-athlete, athletics team or department.

Notice of Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
