PFS Team Lead - Billing
About the role
Responsible for monitoring all A/R staff activities to ensure accurate, complete and timely filing and follow-up. Works with payers to resolve repetitive issues regarding denials or contract compliance. Determines appropriate response or corrective action to denials, including assistance needed from other departments or staff; analyzes data collected and identifies opportunities to reduce denials and improve the revenue cycle. Reports trends to supervisor. Oversees training of all new employees in assigned area.
Responsibilities
- Monitor A/R staff activities for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Resolve repetitive issues with payers regarding denials or contract compliance.
- Determine appropriate responses or corrective actions for denials, involving other departments as necessary.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities to reduce denials and improve the revenue cycle.
- Report trends to supervisor.
- Oversee training of new employees in assigned areas.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of demonstrated experience in billing and A/R management for all payors.
- Detail-oriented; ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervisor.
- Prioritize, organize, and monitor multiple tasks.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Exercise sound judgment with established guidelines.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments.
- Use Microsoft Office in performance of duties and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAHAM Certification (preferred but not required).
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health.
- Requires standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time.
- Lifts at least 20 pounds.
