Job Description and Duties
The Personnel Supervisor I manages the disability payroll unit, overseeing staff who process disability payroll transactions and payments. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, assigning, and monitoring daily workload
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws, rules, and departmental policies
- Providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations for staff
- Reviewing complex or sensitive transactions, resolving discrepancies, and serving as a technical expert
- Preparing reports, analyzing data, drafting correspondence, and advising programs on personnel and payroll rules
- Contributing to policy and process improvements
- Supporting departmental goals for high-quality customer service
- Participating in recruitment activities and supervisory training
The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Supervisor I, Chief of the Payroll and Benefits Services Unit (PBSU). Effective July 2025, the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025 was implemented, reducing monthly base pay by 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary range does not reflect this reduction.
