About the role
The role of a Personal Support Specialist (PSS) at New Communities involves providing caregiver support to seniors to live life fully. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care and inspiring residents to participate in fun, recreational activities. PSSs do not pass medications to residents; however, there are opportunities to advance their career and become a Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA).
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care needs of residents
- Inspire residents to engage in recreational activities
- Communicate effectively with residents and coworkers
- May have opportunities to advance to CRMA certification
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED
- Age 18 or older
- Experience in direct care, preferred but not required. Willingness to train.
Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care
- Basic knowledge of senior care practices

Pay
- Pay rate ranges from $16.10 to $17.85 per hour depending on certifications and shift differentials
Schedule
- Part-time and full-time positions available
- Shifts available: 1st (6:45a - 3:00p) and 2nd (2:45p - 11:00p)
- Per diem positions available on an as-needed basis
