Direct Support Professional (Adult)

About the role

The role involves providing direct support to adults in various settings, including residential facilities and community-based programs. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, medication management, and promoting independence and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
• Manage medications and ensure proper administration
• Support residents in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships
• Monitor residents' health and safety needs and report any concerns to supervisors
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable)
• Experience working with adults in a supportive environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare or social services field is preferred
• Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is beneficial
