Direct Support Professional (Adult)

About the role

The role involves providing direct support services to adults in various settings, including home-based care, community centers, and assisted living facilities. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, medication management, and ensuring safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
• Monitor and manage medications as directed by healthcare providers
• Ensure the safety and well-being of clients in accordance with agency policies and regulations
• Communicate regularly with clients, families, and healthcare providers to update on client status and needs
• Participate in training sessions and ongoing professional development opportunities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if applicable)
• Experience working with adults in a supportive capacity
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients
• Good physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks
• Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures

Skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in using technology for record-keeping and client communication

Pay

$18.50 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
