About the role
The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications. They will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
Responsibilities
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already a licensed CDL holder.
- Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
- Perform snow & ice operations.

Qualifications
- Highway Maintenance Worker 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary. Must obtain Class B Commercial Drivers License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
- Highway Technician 1: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

- HMW1: $21.48
- HT1: $22.29
