You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer. If you are not already a licensed CDL holder, you will attend training to obtain CDL licensure.
Responsibilities
- Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing
- Perform snow and ice operations

Requirements
Highway Maintenance Worker 1
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction
- Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
- Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
Highway Technician 1
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, and fractions
- Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
- 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in operation of basic equipment
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
Pay
Highway Maintenance Worker 1: $21.48 per hour
Highway Technician 1: $22.29 per hour

Work hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (hours may vary)
