What You Will Do
- Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure (if not already a licensed CDL holder).
- Perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, and mowing.
- Perform snow and ice operations.

Qualifications
Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1)
- Formal education in arithmetic (addition & subtraction) and reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary.
- Must obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement, without air‑brake restriction.
Highway Technician 1 (HT1)
- Formal education in arithmetic (addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, fractions) and ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary.
- 3 months of training or 3 months of experience operating basic equipment.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement, without air‑brake restriction.
Compensation
Highway Maintenance Worker 1: $21.48 per hour
Highway Technician 1: $22.29 per hour
Schedule
Full‑time, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
