What You Will Do
- Serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer
- Attend training to obtain CDL licensure (if not already a licensed CDL holder)
- Perform highway maintenance activities, including:
- Flagging
- Pothole patching
- Repairing guardrails
- Litter pickup
- Mowing
- Perform snow and ice operations
Requirements
Highway Maintenance Worker 1
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction
- Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
- Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
Highway Technician 1
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, and fractions
- Ability to read, write, and speak common English vocabulary
- 3 months of training or 3 months of experience in operation of basic equipment
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction
